Without realizing who you are, happiness cannot come to you. - Yogi Bhajan

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in individual, couples and family psychotherapy, and maintain a private practice in Anchorage. Alaska.  I have been in private practice since 1988.  Before that, beginning in 1982, I worked as a clinician in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, with children, youth, adults and families.  I was also the Intake Director for the Rivendell Children and Youth Center.

With nearly 30 years experience as a clinician, and a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas with a Master of Science in Psychology, I am currently working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among my areas of expertise are depression & anxiety, chronic illness, personal growth, insight/solutions,  and Mindfulness .  My personal Mindfulness practice began in 1983 with my teacher, Anna Cox, LCSW, founder of Compassion Works for All, Inc. with whom I have been fortunate to study these many years.  I have also worked, most noteably, with The Most Venerable Thich Naht Hanh, Sharon Salzberg of the Insight Meditation Center in Massachusetts, His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, Daniel Siegel, MD of the Mindful Awareness Research Center at UCLA, Ram Dass, and Daniel Odier.

Blending conventional and alternative approaches, I support an accepting, compassionate focus on a return to our natural state of well-being, through living in the present moment.  I draw on a variety of styles and techniques to help clients resolve current problems or long standing ones.  Helping clients find solutions to a wide range of challenges, through harmony of body, mind and spirit, I work with each client to help them build on their strengths, to identify and achieve life goals, and to regain balance in all areas of their lives.
